Today we left Plymouth after spending more time than we original intended at Gilly and Arthur’s.  We really enjoyed our stay, it was lovely catching up with them again (and of cause Minty the dog).

We drove to Torquay and had a look around.  It seemed like a great holiday destination with a beautiful harbour.

While driving up the motorway we spotted a pheasant in the middle of the two lanes going our way.  The silly thing just stood there and looked at us as we flashed past at 70mph.  Then it managed to run behind us and in front of the car behind us and off to the side of the road.

Having spent a bit of time there we headed off to Lyne Regis on the Jurassic Coast.  We did a lap of the town and found ourselves winding our way through some very narrow street and at one stage had to reverse because we could not pass a bus and he was bigger than us!  We then found our way down to the harbour and the “beach” (all rocks, not even pebbles!) and walked along to the cliff area where people find fossils.  We didn’t have much luck. But thought we may have found a couple of doubtful specimens.  Before we left we had some lunch and drove through the town again on our way out.

After and uneventful drive we arrived at our hotel at Weymouth.
