Packed up the holiday home and headed to Newquay (when I was looking for it on the NavMan I spelt it with a space, New Quay and it said it was a 4.5 hour drive, luckily I knew that it was only about 20 minutes down the road) following the signs on the road.  Had a look around Newquay and headed to Padstow where the map showed a ferry across the bay (thought we would save some time) drove down some very narrow windy roads to the water front that seemed to be mostly pedestrians only to find the car ferry has not operated for many years!  So, we had to drive around the inlet and up to Port Isaacs (AKA Port Wenn).  At Port Issacs we parked up the top (as recommended) and walked around the town looking at the sights from the Doc Martin series.  Met a builder who was sketching a cottage ready for some renovations.  We had some lunch in a little cafĂ© then headed back to Plymouth.

Well along the way the NavMan kept taking us down little narrow lanes.  Finally feed up we got onto the A38 and headed straight back to Plymouth to Jude’s hair appointment.
