Drove over to Stonehenge this morning, about 40-minute drive.  There is a brand-new visitor centre that is about 1.5Km from Stonehenge, buses are provided to get visitors from the centre to Stonehenge.  Interestingly, there is a charge to have a look through the information centre and board the bus (inclusive) but, there is actually no charge to visit Stonehenge itself, you can just walk the distance!

It was a very interesting display.  Walking around the Stonehenge itself raised more questions than it answered.  How did they design it, how did they know the size and shape of the stones required, how did they know to use mortice and tenon joints on top of the uprights to hold the horizontal stones in place, how did they stand the vertical stones up, how did they get the horizontal stones on top of the uprights…?

Spent about 3 hours having a look around then came home.
