Down to Llangollen to have a ride on a train. The track run up alongside a river and there
are 4 stations along the way. We paid an
extra pound to sit in First Class. We
struck up a conversation with six others in the compartment. It turned out there were 3 sisters and a
brother and 2 in-laws who were away for a couple of nights together.
When we got back to the station we went for a walk around
Llangollen. It is a pretty town, but
obviously caters for the tourists.
We then drove up to the horse shoe falls walked down a big
hill and sat on the grass beside the river and the falls (really it is a weir)
and had lunch. While we were there a
couple with 3 dogs who had asked us the way to the canal in the car park came
up. They had walked along the canal to
the falls.
We then headed home…the NavMan, in its wisdom decided to
take us the scenic route. So, we found
ourselves on narrow, steep, windy lanes going up over the hills. Just the sort of driving Jude likes!!
About 1600 we went for a walk around the farm where we are
staying. When we walked past the paddock
where the chooks free range, they all ran over to the fence and followed us up
the lane. When we were coming back past
the farm house the old owner (79) come over so we had a long chat with him, his
cousin and met his son (a sign writer).
He invited Jude up to see how the eggs are collected tomorrow morning (I
wonder if that is like going to see the etchings?).
