Drove from Heathrow to Milton Keynes (about 50 miles or
80Km). The drive up was interesting, set
the NavMan to avoid Motorways so we wandered through the countryside while I
got better at driving a manual car.
Visited Bletchley Park where the code breakers worked during World War
2. Spent about 4 hours looking around
the area. We saw one of Alan Turing’s
BOMBE machines working, a Robinson Machine Mk1 (the first computer ever built)
and a Mk2 and Colossus.
Headed to our accommodation at Mitchell Hall,
student digs at the Cranfield University.
It is out in the countryside. The
room is very small but nice and clean and tidy.
Had dinner in the restaurant on site, great meals for £4.17
